KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1220; 07:16PM; 1958 W Florence Av; https://bit.ly/3JkDlsW; Manchester Square; KNOCKDOWN: Firefighters faced forcible entry challenges gaining access inside the structure, which prompted a request for additional resources. Once they made entry, they were able to quickly locate the seat of the fire and 31 firefighters extinguished the fire in 18 minutes with no injuries reported. The fire was prevented from extending into the attic of the stand alone building. The restaurant was closed at the time and the cause/$ loss is TBD. Firefighters contained it to the unit of origin, preventing any extensive to above or adjacent units. Despite initial reports of someone in the unit, both the primary and secondary search found no occupants. There are no injuries reported. Cause and $ loss TBD. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0265; 05:35AM; 657 N Newton St; https://bit.ly/3qpDXoH; San Fernando; LAFD arrived to find San Fernando Police assisting occupants with evacuation of the one-story home with fire in the attic. Firefighters began by deploying plastic covers over belongings below the fire (salvage operations) to protects from the water deployed in the attic above, while crews positioned themselves on the roof awaiting coordination from fire attack teams inside. After salvage, crews simultaneously created openings from above and below to access the burning attic. Ultimately, it took 22 firefighters 37 minutes to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. Of the 7 patients on scene, one was deceased (age/gender remain unknown), 3 transported (67F, 29F, 11F - conditions unknown), and the rest declined transport.
