KNOCKDOWN Outside Fire; INC#1028; 04:11PM; 1420 N Alameda St; https://bit.ly/3iZbSli; Wilmington; LAFD, with automatic aid from LA County FD, battled a blaze at an outside yard containing shipping containers, tires, and other stored items. Eighty-eight LAFD firefighters used ladder pipes and large hand lines to extinguish the fire in 93 minutes. Explosions heard early in the incident prompted a HazMat investigation, but the those loud noises turned out to be tires exploding, rather than something more dangerous or toxic. Welding materials were found on scene, but all canisters were in tact and did not contribute to the fire. The fire was contained to the yard only, and no structures were threatened. No reported injuries.
