Engineering Unit
The Engineering Unit reviews
plans and specifications for
General Approvals and for
Fire Permit applications filed under Division
5 of the Los Angeles
Fire Code. Plans and specifications are reviewed
for compliance with the applicable Los Angeles Fire Code,
California Fire Code, City of Los Angeles Building Code, and
National Fire Protection Association standards. The
granting of
General Approvals and
Fire Permit applications are subject to a determination
that the proposed work or operation will not create any undue
fire hazard, and that it will conform to the provisions of
the Los Angeles Fire Code and of other relevant laws. The
issuance of the
Fire Permit may be subject to conditions as may be necessary
for the safeguarding of life and property from the hazards
of fire, explosion, or panic.
