Search over enterprise data is essential to every aspect of an enterprise because it helps users fulfill their needs such as information seeking and decision making. Compared with Web, enterprise data is more integrated and requires access control. Furthermore, enterprise search users have more commonality and often leave more "traces" than Web search users. These new issues amount to a challenge in delivering high quality enterprise search service: how can we utilize these new characteristics of enterprise data to understand what a user is looking for, find the relevant information, and organize the search results in a way that helps the user easily digest the information. Aiming to solve this challenge, we are developing a novel retrieval framework and related methods.
