We are developing different transmission schemes for multiple antenna systems based on bit interleaved coded modulation (BICM) and multilevel codes (MLC). The objective is to develop novel low-complexity architectures that can provide near optimum performance in different environments, not only in fast/quasi-stationary fading, but also in the more realistic case of correlated fading. An important aspect of our research is the study or architectures that do not need iterative processing between the decoder and the demapper.
