Controlled - Brush Fire; INC#1063; 04:45PM; 22807 W Santa Susana Pass Rd; https://bit.ly/34ODrGH; #Chatsworth / #SantaSusanPass; With the help of a Ventura County FD Engine Company, and a trio of LAFD Helicopters, the first 30 arriving LAFD ground crews were able to fully extinguish and overhaul the stubborn spot fire that erupted in volatile brush in a rugged canyon distant from the initial fire. A missing and thankfully uninjured pet dog that had escaped from one of the badly damaged vehicles was found in remote terrain by LAFD responders, and safely placed in the care of a family member who later responded to the scene. The dog's owner, a 45 year-old male driver taken by LAFD Paramedics to an area hospital, amazingly suffered only non-life threatening injuries. The adult male driver of the other vehicle declined treatment or ambulance transportation. No other persons were injured. No structures were threatened. The collision is being investigated by LAPD Valley Traffic Division (Incident #2701); FS 96; Batt 15; Valley Bureau; Council District 12; AO1 AO2 BC10 BC12 BC15 BC17 BP28 BP8 CM42 E104 E105 E106 E28 E290 E296 E70 E8 E87 E90 EM15 H2 H3 H4 H5 HA2 HA3 HA4 HA5 RA100 RA104 RA898 RA96 T90 T96 + VCFD; CH8; 18; Brian Humphrey
