Forty-one LAFD Firefighters took just 12 minutes to force entry, confine and fully extinguish flames on the first floor of a vacant/boarded 2,110 square foot craftsman-style home (built 1913), the site of a previous fire. A severely burned adult male civilian (unknown site affiliation) was encountered outside the home on LAFD arrival. He was transported to an area burn center in critical condition. No other injuries reported. Knockdown - Fire; INC#1085; 04:44PM; 919 E 118th St; https://bit.ly/3cAqAMl; Green Meadows; 31 LAFD Firefighters, assisted seamlessly by LACoFD units in Automatic Aid (at our shared border), took just 31 minutes to access and extinguish burning vegetation alongside the eastbound lanes of the Glenn Anderson (I-105) Freeway (aka Century Freeway) in LAFD jurisdiction. Though as many as 5 detached garages were briefly threatened, teamwork by LAFD and LACoFD responders prevented harm to those buildings or nearby homes. No injuries reported. It took 33 minutes to extinguish flames in the attached garage, attic, and exterior vegetation. The driver of the vehicle was deceased at the scene. Speed appeared to be a factor in this collision. INVESTIGATION CONCLUSION Structure Fire; INC#0089; 02:00PM; 203 E 3rd St; Downtown; LAFD Fire Investigators have concluded their investigation and the cause will remain "undetermined." Evidence confirmed that the fire began inside the structure and is not related to the individuals in tents outside the structure. Due to the compromised structural integrity of the fire unit and partial building collapse in the probable area of ignition, investigators were unable to determine anything further.; Nicholas Prange
