Update Helicopter Incident; INC#0923; 04:13PM; 1500 N San Pablo St; https://bit.ly/3mZMhbj; Boyle Heights; A total of three patients were evaluated. The pilot was transported with minor injuries and the two additional persons on board had no medical complaints and declined any treatment/transported. The donated organ that was being transported was safely retrieved by LAFD firefighters and handed over to Keck Hospital of USC staff. Crews remain on scene to ensure safety while the FAA and NTSB representatives begin their investigation. Any questions regarding the aircraft, origination, etc are referred to FAA/NTSB. Update Helicopter Incident - Trapped Vehicle; INC#0923; 03:41PM; 1500 N San Pablo St; https://bit.ly/3mZMhbj; Boyle Heights; This is now a static situation. Two patients (age/gender/condition unknown) are being treated/transported. This appears to be a private air ambulance helicopter that was transporting a donated organ for the hospital. There is no fire nor was there any fire problem. The aircraft is stable on it's side, on the helipad. There does not appear to be a significant fuel leak. LAFD remains on scene to continue to evaluate and assist as needed. There is reported to be no fire problem at this time with unknown number of injured persons. Hospital staff reportedly to be on the pad helping.
