Firefighters encountered excessive storage conditions inside the structure which created challenges reaching the seat of the fire. Update Structure Fire KNOCKDOWN 04/23/2020 INC#0200

Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0200; 05:26PM; 1332 S 2nd Av; https://bit.ly/3av9FqK; Arlington Heights; This incident was originally dispatched as an auto fire, which was upgraded to a structure fire. At least nine autos involving three garages/carports were burning, spreading flames to two other buildings. One unit of a two-story center-hallway apartment building (1401 Arlington) and the attic of a one-story single-family home (1335 Arlington) both became involved. It took 71 firefighters 53 minutes to extinguish the flames across the multiple garages/autos and both residential occupancies. The occupants of the single-family home will not be displaced. The occupants of one unit of the apartment building will potentially be displaced (only light smoke made it into the hallway). No reported injuries.
