Update KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0889; 02:47PM; 3045 W Leeward Av; http://bit.ly/38bRRjR; Koreatown; 102 firefighters tracked down fire in the walls, attic, and mansard of a 16,995 sq-ft three-story apartment building (containing 30 units) built in 1924, extinguishing the flames in 40 minutes. Functional "Ponet" doors, which have fire resistance and close on smoke detection, closed to compartmentalize the building, allowing residents to shelter in place in certain areas of the building protected from the smoke. Firefighters took measures to protect furniture and valuables prior to tearing open the walls to chase down the hidden flames and get water directly on the fire. Red cross has been notified to assist with an unknown number of residents who will be displaced. No reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under active investigation; FS 13; Batt 11; Central Bureau; Council District 1; BC1 BC11 BC5 CM22 E11 E13 E20 E211 E226 E229 E6 EM1 EM13 RA11 RA29 T11 T26 T29; CH9; 13; -Nicholas Prange
