An approximately 2' line was struck during construction work. The construction site was evacuated in addition to two adjacent duplexes. LAFD continues to manage the scene while the gas company works to contain the leak/make repairs. No injuries reported. Original 9-1-1 call received at 10:41AM. Structure Fire; INC#0157; 04:16AM; 1320 S Los Angeles St; http://bit.ly/30fYdPt; Downtown; 93 firefighters responded to a one-story commercial building that was initially finding lazy smoke and a sprinkler activation inside. As crews searched the 50' x 150' unit in a row of businesses, the company on the roof got fire blowing out of their ventilation cut. Firefighters inside encountered multiple mezzanines with heavy fire load. Once the fire was located inside, hose lines were utilized to battle the flames. The fire was extinguished 57 minutes after the first alarm was sent out. No reported injuries. Fire remains under active investigation. Structure Fire; INC#1337; 06:37PM; 8277 W McGroarty St; http://bit.ly/34YLxLi; Sunland; After extinguishing a fire in a small out building at 8140 McGroarty St, units saw a nearby two-story ascending hillside home with smoke showing at 8277 McGroarty St. Firefighters found fire on the second floor, which had extended into the grass adjacent to the structure. 28 firefighters extinguished the fire in both structures and the vegetation in 30 minutes (the second address, more significant fire in 14 minutes). No reported injuries.
