Structure Fire; INC#0222; 04:25AM; 1301 N Main St; http://bit.ly/2UjXoyT; Chinatown; 65 FF in 42 min. Firefighters found a 50' x 50' two-story commercial building with smoke billowing out. Fire attack had to overcome poor visibility inside of a large warehouse to locate the seat of the fire and eventually extinguish the flames. The cause is under active investigation. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0829; 01:23PM; 6015 W Sunset Bl; http://bit.ly/2MLVxlu; Hollywood; 98 FF prevailed in 44 min over an intense fire in a two-story building. Fire was eliminated on the first floor, second floor, and roof. No one was found to be occupying the building (primary and secondary search were clear). LAFD will remain on scene to overhaul the building and ensure there are no remaining hot spots inside. No reported injuries. Unknown cause/loss. Update Structure Fire; INC#0829; 01:23PM; 6015 W Sunset Bl; http://bit.ly/2MLVxlu; Hollywood; Firefighters engaged in an offensive (interior) fire attack and encountered heavy fire on the first and second floors of a two-story building, with electrical wires down in the rear, posing an additional hazard. A primary search revealed no occupants in the structure. Firefighters withdrew from inside the structure and from the roof to continue fighting the fire with a defensive posture (from the exterior of the building). As the flames are knocked back, firefighters will resume interior operations to finalize extinguishment. Vehicle Into Structure; INC#0579; 10:38AM; 3862 N Glenalbyn Dr; http://bit.ly/2ZwYEUp; Mount Washington; A cement truck rolled down a hill, across the road and collided with an auto and the garage of a single family home. No one was occupying the garage at the time of collision and the driver had previously evacuated himself from the truck. No injuries. Building and Safety has been notified to assess structural integrity. Firefighters have retrieved medications and personal belongings for 3 adults that could potentially be displaced. Red Cross not required, as nearby family members will be able to accommodate them, if necessary. Fuel from the truck has leaked out onto the ground. Firefighters have created a dike to limit spread of the fuel and environmental impact (Watershed Management Division has been notified). The case will be presented to the DA for felony filing considerations.
