Heroes Receive Certificates of Appreciation for Saving a Child

Six Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighters were recognized by the Board of Fire Commissioners and Los Angeles Fire Department for saving the life of a two year old girl.

On May 27, 2016, at the 8800 block of South Hoover Street in South Los Angeles, firefighters arrived on scene to find a two year old girl who was choking and turning blue while unconscious and limp. She was immediately rendered advanced medical treatments to clear the airway, and due to their efforts both on-scene and while transporting to the hospital, this young girl’s life was saved.

In recognition of the extraordinary lifesaving efforts by these firefighters, the following individuals received a Certificate of Appreciation presented at the Board of Fire Commissioner meeting:
