STUDIO CITY-
Two people were found dead and two were gravely injured after a fire broke out inside a music recording studio early Saturday morning.

At 6:54AM on April 14, 2018, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 3779 North Cahuenga Boulevard in Studio City.

Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke emanating from a 3,480 square-foot music recording studio.  Reports of people trapped within the structure set in motion a simultaneous interior fire attack and search and rescue operation.
Firefighters found four people in the building and rushed two to local hospitals in grave condition while the remaining two were beyond medical help and determined dead on scene.
The 83 firefighters on scene of this Greater Alarm fire, under the leadership of Assistant Chief Patrick Butler, prevented the spread of flames and saved the remaining portion of the large building.

LAFD Arson/ Counter Terrorism Section and the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) initiated a joint investigation and determined the fire was started intentionally.
By the evening of 14 April, LAPD RHD had a suspect under arrest and continues to pursue the investigation.

The two surviving patients remain in critical condition.
