Two incidents were combined (initially dispatched as an auto fire and a brush fire separately), bringing total fire companies assigned to 14. No structures currently threatened but due to the distance between the spot fires, more units are required to cover the area. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 09/17/2021 INC#1642

KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1642; 10:20PM; 524 N Poinsettia Pl; https://bit.ly/3zl0ENa; Fairfax; LAFD firefighters responded to a one-story single-family home, where heavy fire was consuming the rear of the structure and threatening neighboring structures. Firefighters skillfully doused the flames and confined the fire to the original occupancy. It took 36 firefighters 24 minutes to extinguish the flames. Red cross has been notified to assist a family of 4 who will be displaced. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire 09/16/2021 INC#0791

KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0791; 12:56PM; 8901 N Eton Av; https://bit.ly/3Am5uer; Canoga Park; Twenty-four firefighters confined the flames to the cooking area (and just one kitchen wall) of a mobile home, extinguishing the fire in 21 minutes. Both occupants evacuated safely (approx 98-year-old female and her caregiver). The female resident was evaluated on scene by paramedics as a precaution, but was without medical complaint. She chose to remain at home with her caregiver. The cause of the fire appears to be cooking-related.
