The Los Angeles Fire Department is overseen by a five-person civilian board appointed by the Mayor and affirmed by the City Council. Pursuant to the City Charter, this diverse and qualified group establishes goals and provides direction to the Department through Fire Chief.
The Fire Commission generally holds its public meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM in Room 1820 of City Hall East. Commissioners encourage you to review their reports and listen to the audio recordings of recent meetings.
Parking at City Hall East is available on a pay-per-use basis at the adjacent Los Angeles Mall. Please refer to this interactive map with driving directions to the subterranean pay parking facility, as well as fare, route and schedule information for local public transit.
NOTE: All persons entering City Hall East may be required to provide photo identification and are subject to a security screening.
The Fire Commission strives to assist all meeting attendees, including those with special needs. Assistive listening devices, sign language interpretation, auxiliary aids and translation services may be provided with at least 72 hours advance notice.
