Knockdown - #CanogaFire - Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0791; 01:33PM; 8425 N Canoga Av; https://bit.ly/3pdqy44; Canoga Park; It took 150 LAFD Firefighters just 75 minutes in defensive operations, to access, confine and extinguish heavy fire that consumed a 50' x 100' one-story commercial building, possibly the site of a marijuana grow operation. All three civilian patients are adult males, with severe burn injuries (two are in Critical condition, the other in Serious condition), who have been taken to area hospitals. No other injury reported. Though several vehicles were damaged by fire, LAFD crews were able to prevent flames from damaging other structures in the complex of multiple industrial buildings. Firefighters will remain at scene this afternoon to extinguish smoldering hotspots and assist with the active fire cause investigation. The name and nature of the business(es) involved within the one damaged structure, and their legal status to operate, has yet to be determined. LAFD Public Information Officer Captain Erik Scott in on scene, with Media Staging on Canoga Avenue just east of the fire. #LATraffic - Street Closure: One or more lanes of Canoga Avenue will remain closed between Roscoe Boulevard and Parthenia Street LAFD operations are complete, unknown duration.
