KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1686; 09:59PM; 10322 N Sherman Grove Av; https://bit.ly/403PXNy; #Sunland; Firefighters arrived to find a single-family home with fire showing from the attached garage (exposing the neighboring home to flames) and a 16-year-old male outside with burns and injuries who was transported immediately in serious condition. Firefighters began the incident in a defensive posture, as there were reports of propane cannisters on site. After knocking back the initial heat and flames, firefighters made entry for interior fire attack on the fire unit, while others battled flames on the neighboring structure (keeping damage to the exterior surface only). The majority of the fire damage to the home was to the attached garage and attic. Ultimately, it took 77 firefighters 43 minutes to extinguish the blaze. One other patient was transported in fair condition.
