Update High Rise Structure Fire Knockdown 01/29/2020 INC#0421

Update Knockdown High Rise Structure Fire; INC#0421; 09:56AM; 11740 W Wilshire Bl; http://bit.ly/37CedLl; Sawtelle; A total of 335 LAFD personnel responding by ground and air, were assisted by the nearby Santa Monica Fire Dept, LAPD, LA Sheriff and allied agencies in successfully managing the incident. The wind-driven fire was extinguished one hour and 19 minutes after it was first reported. There were 8 civilian patients. Most suffered from smoke exposure, and six (no info on age / gender / condition / affiliation / circumstances) were transported to area hospital, including one person who was in grave condition. NOTE: Despite reliable eyewitnesses vividly describing one or more persons 'jumping' from the 6th floor, we surmise that such person/s may have appeared, disappeared (returned briefly inside) and returned to the building's exterior in an area heavily charged with smoke, leading the eyewitnesses to believe they had jumped rather than temporarily retreated into the building. It is likely the jumper/s in question was the man later safely rescued by an LAFD Firefighter atop an extended aerial ladder. There were no firefighter injuries. The fire's cause remains under active investigation.; FS 37; Batt 9; West Bureau; Council District 11; Dispatched LAFD Units: AP65 AR1 AR11 AR17 AR9 BC10 BC11 BC12 BC14 BC17 BC18 BC4 BC5 BC9 CE59 CL1 CM42 CM43 CM52 DC2S E109 E19 E205 E215 E226 E227 E229 E233 E235 E237 E239 E26 E261 E263 E269 E273 E278 E288 E290 E292 E293 E294 E295 E35 E37 E39 E41 E43 E5 E51 E52 E58 E59 E5S E60 E61 E62 E63 E67 E68 E69 E6S E81 E88 E89 E90 E99 EA1 EM18 EM4 EM9 FR64 FR82 FR9 H1 H3 H4 H5 HA1 HA3 HA4 HA5 HL7 HL9 HR3 MD1 PH1 PI3 RA19 RA23 RA29 RA37 RA43 RA59 RA60 RA63 RA78 RA837 RA857 RA88 RA892 RA90 RA92 RA95 RA97 RA99 RH114 RM2 RM3 T15 T26 T27 T33 T35 T37 T39 T5 T61 T63 T69 T73 T78 T88 T90 T92 T93 T94 T95 TL1 UR27 UR88 and Santa Monica Fire Dept and LAPD and LA Sheriff; - Brian Humphrey
