This is due to strong overall compliance with strict brush clearance regulations and a lack of wind. Update Brush Fire; INC#0651; 01:10PM; 548 N Palisades Dr; http://bit.ly/2ncIdex; Pacific Palisades; The tenacious work of over 120 firefighters, from both air and ground have successfully stopped all forward progress of the fire. Winds are approximately 11MPH and LAFD firefighters with the assistance of LACoFD camp crews will continue to address any hot spots to ensure no spot fires. Firefighters prevented the fire from reaching the property lines of the homes at the top of the hill, ensuring no damage sustained. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Fire size is approximately 2 acres. The fire is burning uphill, threatening homes (number unknown) at the top of the hill. Air Ops water drops are currently focused on the homes and defending them while firefighters work to get through the brush to continue extinguishment at the head of the fire. No fire. No illness. No injury. The estimated 100+ persons who largely self-evacuated from the nearby large condominium building, are now able to return to their homes. Update Natural Gas Leak; INC#1032; 04:30PM; 17337 W Tramonto Dr; http://bit.ly/2QemTTU; Pacific Palisades; SoCalGas has fully exposed the 3" pipeline and hopes to have the leak stopped shortly after en route specialty tools arrive (by 5 PM?). No fire. No illness. No injury. Out of an abundance of caution, LAFD was prepared to move an estimated 100+ persons from the nearby large *condominium* building, though the HOA states all persons have already calmly and safely departed the building. Any persons LAFD finds on the premises will now be guided to a recreation room on the far west side of the large complex to await leak stoppage. The nearby upwind school where an unknown number of occupants are being safely sheltered in place alongside firefighters, is known as "Chabad of Pacific Palisades".
