Low-Income Assistance

1. What options are available for those who do not have health insurance or cannot afford to pay the ambulance bill?  Is there relief for low-income patients?

2. Who qualifies for the LAFD Low-Income Assistance Program?  What options are available to those who don't qualify but still need assistance?

The Low-Income Assistance Program provides an exemption from fees resulting from an ambulance transport to patients whose household income does not exceed the maximum allowable.  Information about the low-income assistance program and income thresholds are found on the Request For EMS Billing Low Income Assistance form or from Digitech at (888) 772-3203.  For those who don't qualify for low-income assistance, contact Digitech at (888) 772-3203 to discuss possible alternative payment arrangements.
