Full River Rescue 10/13/2018 INC#0192

Full River Rescue; INC#0192; 02:29AM; 60 La River; http://bit.ly/2RMDf2M; Atwater Village; LAFD resources responded to a report of a woman in the water in distress. After an extensive search, firefighters located the woman who was now out of the water and firmly resisting any LAFD help. Crews investigated the area to ensure all those remaining in the river bottom (encampments) are moving to higher ground out of precaution. The water does not currently appear to be rising and the rain has stopped. No rescues required. Update Explosion; INC#0365; 11:26AM; 630 S Shatto Pl; http://bit.ly/2EpC3zQ; Koreatown; The smoldering fire remaining in one of the electrical vaults was safely extinguished. LAFD Hazardous Materials Squads continually monitored the explosive gas levels which diminished over the morning and are now below any level of concern. SoCal Gas, LAPD and LA DWP worked together with LAFD to ensure all hazards were identified and mitigated, keeping all those in the area safe. The LAFD is now releasing resources and the scene is being transitioned to DWP control.
