Thankfully, the sound wall protected many nearby properties from most of the danger, but flames managed to hurdle the wall in one place and burned 5 autos, a detached garage, and (very minor damage to) a single-family home. Thirty-eight firefighters extinguished all aspects of this dynamic incident in approximately 44 minutes, without injury. Rescuers on the ground hiked in to make initial patient contact and initiate care, while air support was en route. LAFD Air Ops arrived from Van Nuys Airport shortly after to hoist and transport the patient in moderate condition to a local hospital.
