Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1550; 11:30PM; 12140 W Vanowen St; https://bit.ly/3gj2q8T; North Hollywood; It took 26 firefighters just 13 minutes to extinguish the blaze at this one-story home that previously burned. Firefighters contained the damage to the structure of origin, skillfully protecting nearby homes from the heat. No reported injuries. Thirty firefighters took 17 minutes to extinguish the blaze, operating in defensive mode for the majority of the battle. No reported injuries. Update CONTAINED Brush Fire; INC#0622; 02:22PM; 2546 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/39GoAPX; Hollywood Hills West; It took 80 firefighters two hours and 20 minutes to extinguish the approximately three-acre brush fire in the Hollywood Hills. An aggressive ground and air attack by firefighters skillfully protected nearby homes and kept the fire to a relatively small footprint. LAFD Crew 3A and 3B (volunteer hand crew) assisted with the fight and will continue to improve the perimeter and extinguish hot spots within the burn footprint aside LAFD firefighters during "mop up." No reported injuries. Update Brush Fire; INC#0622; 01:15PM; 2546 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/39GoAPX; Hollywood Hills West; The fire is currently at approximately three acres, burning medium brush in challenging terrain with light wind. Firefighters have anchored the heel (downhill/downwind back side) of the fire and established hose lines up the flanks, providing an attack on the fire from the rear and sides. LAFD helicopters continue to attack the head of the fire with water drops, slowing its ascent toward the ridge. Firefighters have posted up at nearby homes and do not expect the structures to sustain any damage due to the fire. Brush clearance has provided defensible space for firefighters to work in and effectively protect the property. RESIDENTS: Power will be out temporarily in the Laurel Canyon area due to the brush fire.
