This year marks the 19th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Each year we hold a ceremony to remember the people and events of that fateful day. However, this year due to the coronavirus, we have had to adjust our traditional observance. This change does not affect our commitment to “never forget”.
We will always and forever honor the 343 New York City Firefighters killed that day, the 23 NYPD Officers and 37 Port Authority Police Officers who sacrificed their lives. We also honor the 125 civilians and military personnel killed at the Pentagon, and the nearly 3,000 civilians who perished in the towers and on those four airliners.
We stand with the FDNY Firefighters who mourn the loss of their fellow Firefighters and who continue to protect the people of New York. This short tribute video commemorates the sacrifices made by all on September 11, 2001.
