While there have been no civilian injuries, the intense battle with flames has led to 3 LAFD members requiring medical attention for non-life threatening issues, including two injuries and one case of exhaustion. The firefight continues in a defensive posture with all operations outside the burning building, which has become structurally unsound. One firefighter is now being medically evaluated at scene for exertion, no other injuries reported. LAFD Public Information Officer Capt Erik Scott is en route, ETA 1:20 AM. Vehicle vs Building; INC#1429; 08:33PM; 5415 N Sepulveda Bl; http://bit.ly/2LyAPCv; Sherman Oaks; Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 88 responded less than a half mile north of their station to a vehicle vs building. An SUV traveled from an uncovered parking area through a wall into an unoccupied covered parking. Firefighters freed 2 patients from the vehicle. Firefighter/paramedics are on scene to evaluate both patients, who are complaining of minor injuries. LAFD will remain on scene to make sure the scene is safe. Building and Safety has been notified to assess structural integrity.
