Information Only Trapped Vehicle; INC#0301; 05:47AM; Nb 5 Fy; https://bit.ly/3U6Vq5c; Griffith Park; Solo vehicle with two persons trapped in the vehicle, one of whom (undetermined age/gender) was deceased. The other patient (undetermined age/gender) was disentangled from the wreckage by firefighters, and has been taken to a regional trauma center in critical condition. No other injuries. The vehicle was found by CHP on right shoulder with Heavy Damage. No fire. #LATraffic: Possible closure of one or more lanes of northbound 5 freeway near 134 interchange until CHP and Medical Examiner operations are complete. Unknown ETO. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio. Ground crews were unable to bring apparatus to the patient's location due to the terrain, therefore LAFD Air Operations utilized a hoist operation. Rescuers were lowered down to the patient to assess, treat, and prepare the patient for a hoist. LAFD Air Operations hoisted and transported the patient by air to a local hospital. LAFD used vehicle extrication techniques to free trapped viable patients. Three patients (Undetermined Ages / Genders / Affiliation / Circumstances ) are being transported to area hospitals. #LATraffic: Possible Closure of 10 freeway westbound at Overland until CHP and Medical Examiner operations are complete, unknown duration. LAFD resources are remaining on scene to assist Medical Examiner with vehicle extrication and body removal trapped in wreckage. The isolated area has been rendered safe for normal operations at the sanitation yard. There is NO off-site or escalating hazard. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0768; 12:47PM; 1700 S Penmar Av; https://bit.ly/3VNO8os; #Venice; Initial arriving firefighters found a One-story single-family home well involved. Firefighters utilized fire attack hose lines with vertical ventilation to quickly extinguished the flames and keeping the fire from spreading vertically or horizontally. It took 32 firefighters 27 minutes to extinguish the flames and achieve a knockdown. The cause and origin is currently under investigation.
