Surface fire (roofing) has been extinguished on one single-family home. Two out buildings have been extinguished. Firefighters are still battling remaining burning vegetation by ground and by air. No reported injuries so far. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1012; 02:55PM; 1239 S Normandie Av; https://bit.ly/3oP27XI; Harvard Heights; After being elevated to a greater alarm structure fire, 53 firefighters extinguished the flames in 31 minutes, inside of a two-story boarded-up house. The stubborn fire appeared to have started on the first floor and spread to the second floor and attic, where firefighters encountered some challenges accessing the fire. Ultimately, the flames were extinguished, with no resulting injuries. Update Structure Fire KNOCKDOWN 01/15/2021 INC#0592

Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0592; 11:42AM; 13191 N Fellows Av; https://bit.ly/3oORvrT; Sylmar; Firefighters battled in approximately 25 mph winds for 57 minutes and have now extinguished the flames. Firefighters successfully protected nearby buildings and livestock. The fire extended into some nearby trees, which has now also been contained. A total of 117 firefighters responded to the location, classifying it as a major emergency structure fire. There were reports of a patient, but firefighters were unable to locate anyone in need of medical help. Firefighters will remain on scene for an extended period of time. No confirmed injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Knockdown Structure Fire; INC#1169; 04:33PM; 910 S Mariposa Av; https://bit.ly/3im3oDi; Koreatown; The first arriving 30 LAFD firefighters took just 13 minutes to fully extinguish fire in one 1st floor unit to the rear of a 2 story, 16 unit, 8,271 square-foot center hallway apartment building that was not equipped with residential fire sprinklers. No human injury. Sadly, one pet dog was found lifeless by firefighters, and has died at the scene.
