Firefighters quickly extinguished the rubbish fire while fire attack made it's way into the structure. Crews located fire on the 1st and 2nd floors and knocked it down. Crews are working their way through the rest of the building to ensure no fire remains. No injuries reported. Sadly, she was beyond medical help and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. LAFD Arson Section is attached for the investigation per protocol for a fire fatality. Firefighters located a fire in one unit and extinguished it. They conducted a search and located one patient. The patient has been rescued out of the unit and is being treated by paramedics in unknown condition. Firefighters are working to clear the residual smoke from the building. With the quick attack made by LAFD Air Ops from the sky, the ground firefighters were able to access the fire and get handlines around it (totaling less than 1/4 acres in heavy brush). No structures damaged and no injuries reported. There is no further update to the 8 acre size. Crews will remain on scene for a number of hours conducting mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remain.
