Traffic Collision; INC#1417; 08:52PM; SB 110 Fwy x Slauson Av; https://bit.ly/2Vvq0aH; Vermont-Slauson; Five vehicles were involved in a traffic collision, resulting in three patients needing transport to the hospital. Two patients are in serious to critical condition, and the third is in fair condition. LAFD firefighter-paramedics are performing medical assessments on scene and as additional LAFD ambulances arrive, patients will be transported in order of severity. Nothing further. Jumper; INC#1176; 06:21PM; 13710 N Gavina Av; https://bit.ly/2VRwtvf; Sylmar; One adult male was on the Gavina Ave bridge where it passes over the wash. LAFD was on standby to assist the patient if necessary. Water was flowing in the wash below, therefore river rescue precautions were being considered, in addition to the "long fall" precautions. Before any harm came to the patient, LAPD skillfully and peacefully apprehended the man. Firefighter-paramedics are providing a medical assessment on scene. LAPD Inc #4632. Structure Fire; INC#0707; 02:20PM; 13519 W Bromwich St; https://bit.ly/2yvHDhm; Arleta; A 1,236 sq-ft one-story single family home built in 1952 was found to have smoke showing from a fire in the attic. It took 30 firefighters 33 minutes to shield belongings in the living space below, and access/extinguish the flames in the attic. Firefighters made access from above and below to reach all areas of attic involvement. No reported injuries. Update Rubbish Fire; INC#0611; 01:50PM; 1537 S Evergreen Av; https://bit.ly/2yzkDOm; Boyle Heights; Approx 100 x 100 portion of a metal recycling yard on fire. The original fire engine is now on scene with three additional task forces, LAFD heavy equipment operators, and an LAFD HazMat Squad (to monitor waste runoff). Multiple large hand lines are sending a deluge of water into the yard and ladder pipe operations are being set up.
