Structure Fire - FATALITY; INC#0528; 11:34AM; 1628 W 79th St; https://bit.ly/3vs2c7z; Manchester Square; At 10:50AM LAFD received a call of reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived to find light smoke showing (no fire) from the eves of a detached garage. Inside the building, firefighters located a 73yo male sadly beyond medical help and pronounced dead on scene. After the investigation, it was determined to be an accidental fire due to the use of a stove inside the garage in conjunction with medical oxygen in use by the victim. Coldwater Canyon will be shut down in both directions at Raymer for the death investigation. Train tracks will also be shut down in both directions and riders are referred to Metrolink for train updates. Any further questions regarding this incident are referred to LAPD North Hollywood Division Inc# 766 and LA County Sheriffs Department (requested to respond to the scene due to Metrolink involvement).
