Update KNOCKDOWN Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0144; 05:27AM; 2727 S Long Beach Av; https://bit.ly/3uLM68l; Central-Alameda; *Corrected Address* The bulk of the fire has been extinguished by 144 firefighters after 1 hour and 48 minutes in a 21,711 square-foot commercial building. There are still hot spots within the debris. Fire companies will remain on scene for an extended period of time to overhaul, and LAFD Heavy Equipment crews will assist with safely moving the debris to access those pockets of heat. LAFD Fire Investigators (with the Arson/Counter Terrorism Section) are on scene investigating potential causes. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1092; 05:34PM; 4531 N Sepulveda Bl; https://bit.ly/3bO8Yvm; Sherman Oaks; This Greater Alarm Structure Fire was held to the unit of origin (which was fully involved with fire) by 70 firefighters. With an interior and rooftop attack, firefighters boldly battled to defend adjacent businesses, which only sustained minor exterior damage, extinguishing the flames in 23 minutes. There were no reported injuries. Knockdown - Brush Fire; INC#0955; 04:47PM; 12331 W Foothill Bl; https://bit.ly/3q4P6sX; Lake View Terrace; Despite the challenge of 20 mph Santa Ana winds from the northeast, the first arriving 60 LAFD ground personnel have fully extinguished one (1) acre of burning grass and debris that began as an encampment fire alongside the EB Foothill (I-210) Freeway just east of the Ronald Reagan (SR118) Freeway interchange, behind the mentioned Foothill Boulevard address. Wind-driven embers led to minor exterior-only fire damage atop an adjacent large one-story commercial building. No injury reported.
