Update Brush Fire; INC#0971; 06:55PM; 2900 W Colorado Bl; http://bit.ly/2NwLEYv; Eagle Rock; The #ColoradoFire wildfire remains in a Unified Command (LAFD, Glendale FD, LA County FD, CHP) until further notice. *Speaking For Unified Command as of 6:55 PM Monday*, the fire has consumed an estimated 45 acres, now with 70% containment. One Glendale Fire Department Firefighter sustained a minor injury (details must come directly from that agency). There have been no civilian injuries and no structures destroyed. Firefighters will work through the night to assure there are no flare-ups as they work on full containment. Update Brush Fire; INC#0971; 07:35PM; 2900 W Colorado Bl; http://bit.ly/2NwLEYv; Eagle Rock; This fire started in the City of Los Angeles and moved into the City of Glendale. Forward progress of the fire is stopped in all directions with size held to approximately 30 acres with 25% containment. There are NO evacuation orders for the City of Los Angeles. The existing evacuation orders are within the City of Glendale only and Glendale Fire is the point of contact for those updates. There were no structures damaged and no injuries reported. Freeway closures remain in effect for an undetermined period and CHP is the point of contact for all traffic updates. The incident command post is moving to Verdugo Park located at 1621 La Canada Blvd and LAFD is transitioning command of this incident to Glendale Fire. LAFD will continue to have resources on scene throughout the night assisting with mop up operations and fire watch to ensure no flare ups take hold. All further updates to this incident will come via Glendale Fire. There is currently no known cause and it is under active investigation. This is the final update from LAFD on this incident. The fire is at *approximately* 20-25 acres. Over 215 LAFD firefighters are assigned to this incident with additional resources from Glendale Fire and LA County Fire. LAFD has 3 helicopters plus the Air-Crane and LACounty has an additional 2 on scene, conducting continuous water drops. Firefighters continue to make progress on the fire with no structures damaged and no injuries reported. MEDIA STAGING is at Mount Carmel and Glenoaks with LAFD Captain Silverman. Three LAFD helicopters are conducting continuous water drops. Firefighters are making good progress against the left flank of the fire with additional resources committing to the right flank. There are not currently any evacuations in place nor a defined number of homes threatened. Glendale and LA County Fire both have resources on scene while LAFD remains Incident Command. The 134 Freeway is closed WB at Figueroa and EB at Glendale. The 2 Freeway is closed SB at Mountain. Please follow CHP for all updates on road closures. LAFD PIO Captain Silverman responding for media availability on the ground. Media staging location will be updated once available. Over 143 LAFD firefighters on scene in addition to Glendale and LA County resources. The contracted Erickson Air-Crane is now attached to the incident to assist with water drops. No injuries reported.
